Career: Jean-Loup Bertaux a travaillé sur plusieurs sujets, l'atmosphère terrestre, les environnements cométaires, les atmosphères planétaires, le milieu interplanétaire, le vent solaire et les planètes extra-solaires, en utilisant à la fois des instruments au sol et embarqués, et a pris part au développement de certains. Il a été responsable scientifique de l'instrument SPICAM sur Mars Express, de SPICAV sur Venus Express, de SWAN sur SOHO.

Medals & distinctions: Médaille d’Argent du CNES (1984) + Médaille Huygens (2010).
