Career: Main activities in the aerospace medical field (FS=Flight Surgeon). 1998-99: FS mission Perseus. Since 1998: joined MEDES. 1994-96: FS mission Cassiopée. 1992-95: FS ESA-Russian missions Euromir 94 and Euromir 95. 1992-93: FS mission Altair. 1990-92: FS mission Antares. 1986-89: FS mission Aragatz. 1990 & 1985: responsible for the medical selection of French astronauts. 1985: FS flight 51 G on US Shuttle. October 1983: joined CNES. Main activities in human factors engineering: 1997-98: head of the Life Sciences Department in CNES. 1983-97: responsible of crew aspects in the Hermes ACRV, CRV and CTV projects. 1976-83: assistant in Medical Physiology Department of Toulouse University. 1975-76: engineer, Messier Hispano (64). 1972-75 ISAE engineer diploma, 1976-83 MD diploma.

Medals & distinctions: Since 1994 member and at the present time chairman of the “ESA Medical Board”. Member of the "International Astronautic Academy" (IAA) since 1988.
